Starting with our blog/site, let's go to a news that arouses the curiosity of all fans: The possible new live-action from Rurouni Kenshin franchise. On our Facebook page, last year, we've posted some supposed photos as well. So far then there is zero official confirmation. So until/if it happens, treat it like a rumor.

The mood of the photos really brings a familiar, slightly melancholic feel just like the tone we have in the Jinchuu Arc.

It all started with the leaking of some documents about breach of contract by Emi Takei (the actress who played Kaoru Kamiya in the film trilogy). She broke the restrictive clause that "prevented" her from marrying and having children, apparently this type of contract is common in Japan.

The situation got even worse for the project when the scandal involved Rurouni Kenshin's creator, Nobuhiro Watsuki, surfaced. The manga that had returned in September 2017, along with a novel about Kenshin and Kaoru's wedding (written by Watsuki's wife/story consultant in Hokkaido Arc, Kaworu Kurosaki), being serialized monthly bringing the so speculated Hokkaido Arc after the previous publication of a prologue divided into two parts - Rurouni Kenshin Ibun: Ashitarou Zenka-Ari (Rurouni Kenshin - Variant Story: The Ex- con Ashitarou). After the publication of 3 chapters, it was notified as in indefinite hiatus in the month of December of the same year.

In February of 2018 the novel returned. In June of 2018 the history of the manga was resumed in Japan. In the US the manga was being published simultaneously with Japan. However, after the scandal, Viz Media, responsible for the American publication did not resume the project.

Are the photos false? Or can we hope for the new Live-action?
