Update with the latest information

This week is very busy for those who follow news about Rurouni Kenshin. New photos have practically been released on a daily basis. For Rurouni Kenshin fans who read the manga it has been a pleasant surprise, with iconic moments being portrayed in live-action (where's the animated version though?) and raising expectations about the movies' release.Last monday (17) the news came out that we would have new information about the new movies in CUT Magazine, in which Kenshin Himura was already on its cover in his live-action version:

In it we can check the comments of the direct Keishi Otomo and the actor Takeru Sato (who plays Kenshin):

CUT: This is a new work for the first time in six years since the previous work "Kyoto Fire"/ "The Legend Ends". Over the past six years, how has “Rurouni Kenshin” existed for each and how did they decide to create a new work?

Sato: It's hard to find a role as attractive as Kenshin. If you want to play an attractive role, Kenshin Himura will flicker. As an actor, being able to experience a site like "Rurouni Kenshin" is a honorand I am really grateful. After all, there is no other work worthwhile for my life (Sato)

Otomo: After finishing “"Kyoto Fire"/ "The Legend Ends", I thought about was left behind, "The Cross-shaped Wscar" — It is caleed by original fans and anime fans as “Reminiscence”. It's the story of how the scar was made. However, recently, everyone is used to light tone. Under such circumstances, I think that trying to do "The Cross-shaped Wscar" in earnest is to be prepared to be covered in some kind of blood .

CUT: The two actors starred in this work with extraordinary determination because of their deep love for this work as the lead and director. Now that he has finished shooting, he said his thoughts on the Final Chapter as follows.

Sato: Since I had the image of "The Beginning" since the first crank-in, I felt like I could finally meet (omitted) this time.  I don't want to put the order, but I think it is the best. To be honest, there are some places where I wanted to make "Reminiscence".

Otomo: I don't think the movie has to be rough. This time, in both works, I'm aiming for something like that. A dramatic human drama as well as an outrageous action entertainment. Anyway, I want to hit the soul of the viewer. For now, I feel like I'm approaching such a thing.

On Tuesday (18), to commemorate the birth date of  real Saitou's birth, we had confirmation that Yosuke Eguchi would return to the new movies to once again embody the wolf of Mibu - Hajime Saitou.

Saitou survived the turmoil of the end of the Tokugawa period with Kenshin, the major enemy of the former Shinsengumi Third Corps, and became a police officer in the new Meiji era. He is a man who believes in justice of  "slash evil immediatley". He starts in a different paths in the new era in comparison to Kenshin, but they fight again before a new threat. Eight years have passed since the first work, and this work is finally the final chapter in the series.

Eguchi says: "I'm very honored to have played the role of Hajime Saitou, because it's unlikely that I will continue to play the same role for many years. On the other hand, I can not escape it because I am a character that I have created so far. This time, it took me more than six months to shoot, and during that time I was struggling because I had to maintain a sense of tension all the time, but when I thought that all the pictures I shot would be connected, I was convinced that this would be a terrific movie (laughs). I experienced this large group of staff and a large-scale set and large-scale shooting, and once again felt the awesomeness of the work 'Rurouni Kenshin'. I was excited by the enthusiasm of the staff. I was overwhelmed by the heat of the site of 'Rurouni Kenshin'. They used a lot of energy to shoot The Final and The Beginning, which is a very different story and era, so the wording and tone of the lines will change. It is a highlight of how changed from the new era of the Meiji to the end of the Tokugawa period, and that Kenshin and Saitou have also changed with the flow of the world."

He talked about the Kenshin and Saitou's conflict drawn in the above. And the scene photograph that captured Saitou is also lifted. The (Jinchuu's characters) ban has been lifted in the scene of exploring the enemies of the series, Enishi, the forefront of the Shanghai Mafia, played by Arata Mackenyu. Saitou's sharp eyes, as if he has already captured the enemy, and his hands holding his sword with a cigarette, create an atmosphere that is not just random. After the struggle with Shishio, the picture shows that they were supposed to come to peace again and once again it can feel the threat coming.

And here, we continue with more pictures from the magazine:

Here the spoilers begin, if you haven't read the Jinchuu arc (why?), consider yourself warned. In the photo below it seems that something relevant has happened, what will it be?

The night scene on a commercial street, with that more yellowish tone that seems to be influenced by a fire, may be what happens in chapter 154 of volume 18 - The Signal Fire of Revenge - when the Kujiranami explodes the Akabeko restaurant with a shot from the Armstrong cannon that he wears on his arm, shooting him from the top of Mount Ueno.

Kujiranami Hyōgo is a former samurai of the bakufu who, after losing his right arm in battle against Hitokiri Battosai during the late days of the Bakumatsu, joined Enishi in search of revenge and a proper death. The following image appears to show Kenshin heading to where the shot was fired:

Below we see Enishi in a house. Is it the mansion that serves as the basis for its operations as we see in the manga? The fact is that Gein and Banjin will not return.

Direct reference to the moment that occurs in chapter 162 (Dawn Thoughts) of manga, when Kenshin roams the city streets wondering why allies and acquaintances are being attacked indiscriminately."It started with a sin that this one committed, a killing." Kenshin repeated to himself, remembering the phrase Otowa had said, being the only clue he had at the time regarding the reasons for the attacks. Hard task for an ex-assassin who fought fiercely in a civil war to think about which specific killing could trigger all of this and then:

The story of the new live-actions will be based on the Jinchuu Arc. Rurouni Kenshin Final Chapter The Final / The Beginning," which will be a nationwide road show for two consecutive titles - July 3 and August 7.
