It's time for Jinchuu

Last Tuesday (12), the official account of Rurouni Kenshin's live-actions released two new images about the live-action. The first would be Enishi's declaration of war, a letter, to Kenshin written: "Jinchuu", the second image was Enishi's own revelation showing his look for the live-action. The actor Mackenyu Arata will be responsible for giving life to the vindictive Enishi Yukishiro, who is after Kenshin (his ex-brother-in-law) to settle old scores with the wanderer, who in his hitokiri ("manslayer") days murdered his beloved sister.

Although the characterization is true to what we have in the manga, with his "tank top", which is actually a kind of malleable armor, having an interesting texture and the iconic orange jacket with blue stripes being something really beautiful, we can't say the same about the choice in relation to the hair, which in no way resembles the manga's spiky hairstyle, this being a common problem in relation to other characters in the live-action version (Kaoru, both Yahikos and Sanosuke). However, we will need to wait to see if the photo is under a fight context or if what is on the poster is the real deal.

That said, there is something else that might catch your eye on the poster, we can see two men with their backs to the camera who seem to be wearing traditional Chinese clothing. [Spoiler!] If you read the manga, as the OVA version is a far cry from the black and white version of Watsuki, you must remember that Enishi built a powerful career being a black-market arms dealer in China, he even sold the warship Rengoku (Purgatory) to Makoto Shishio. In his organization, his "right arm" Woo Heishin, is accompanied by 4 bodyguards who are quadruplets, the Su Shen ( meaning Four Stars - 四星, and Four Gods 四神).

Two of Enishi's five comrades in the manga have already appeared in the 1st live-action, and it was also said that they will not be returning: Inui Banjin (the silent man who fought with Sanosuke) and an alternative version of Gein who fought against Kenshin (we saw a version similar in that RuroKen "What if" manga, Tokuitsuban). What comes next is speculation, as nothing has been released yet, but who knows, we may see Hyoko Otowa, Hyōgo Kujiranami and Mumyōi Yatsume appear.

About Su Shen, if it really is them, they probably are not 4 brothers, after all, one of the 4 fights with Yahiko, being that young boy had a very faint participation in the original trilogy, being more of a witness than a fighter. It was said that we will have 2 original characters for the live-action that were named after Watsuki himself, so maybe the two men in the photo would be these two characters? Anyway, if so, there would be many characters to be introduced in just 1 movie, since one of the movies will take place in the past when Kenshin was still Battousai.

In any case, there is still time to have more information before the movie's release, which until then had no release information here in the West. But, how about you? Are you looking forward to the movies that will be released this year?
