New image shows unprecedented combat
If
you've been a longtime fan of Rurouni Kenshin, you've probably read the
entire classic manga (after all, Arco Hokkaido is currently being
published in Japan) and must have watched the animated series and OVAs.
If you know it all, you've probably seen the original live-action
trilogy. While the first film - Rurouni Kenshin: Origins (2012) took
certain liberties, the second and third - Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno
and The Legend Ends (2014) - were looser adaptations, mainly due to the
choices made with the first film. So it is not unexpected that the new
films (until then) scheduled for this year - The End and the Beginning -
will distance themselves from the original work.
It is already expected that at least two new characters will be added, after all, for no reason, Banjin Inui and a younger and hybrid version of Gein using elements from Han'nya were used in the first film. Below you can see Kenshin fighting minions, probably Enishi's:
